Community Groups

COMMUNITY at Woodmen

We hope you love weekends at Woodmen! But we know that life in Christ is about much more than a weekend worship service. We believe that spiritual growth and relationships are best nurtured in community and that’s why Community Groups are an essential part of who we are as a church. Check out the information here to find out more about how you can dive into a circle of people who care about each other and about learning and living out God’s word.

Join a Group

Community groups are an amazing way to connect and grow at Woodmen. You can choose from intergenerational groups with people of all ages, a group for those in their 20s, or a group specifically for college students. Select one of the options below:

WHO WILL BE IN MY GROUP?

Groups are campus-based so you can connect with people in your part of town. They are multi-generational groups because we believe generations have a lot to learn from one another, and we want to impact the places we live, but we also have options for if you want to connect with other people in their 20s or if you're college-age and want to be in a college-age-only group. Most groups will have somewhere between 14 and 18 members.

HOW LONG IS MY COMMITMENT?

Our yearly schedule is made up of three shorter blocks: Sept-Dec, Jan-March, and April-May. So you can try a group for just a few months. Although, we think you’ll love it and want to continue!

WHEN WILL WE MEET?

Most groups meet on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings, usually two to three times each month. We’ll let you know the full schedule well in advance.

WHAT WILL WE LEARN?

Groups dive deeper into the teaching from Woodmen weekend services. Discussion guides are emailed to you on Sunday evening, so you’ll have a few days to go over the questions and be ready to share in your group. This allows us to learn and grow together as we practically apply the teaching in our lives.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

Something I love about community groups is the fellowship and deepening friendship in walking beside other believers in their spiritual journey. There is learning, giving, and a feeling of mutual trust. Our leaders, Betsy and Glen are great! – Genoyce

When my wife and I first started attending Woodmen, we quickly joined a Community Group that had already been meeting. We were under the impression that this group had been meeting for a long time because everyone got along so well. Not only had they just been meeting that block, but they easily welcomed us into the fold so that we felt like we were part of the family. Almost a year later, we can't imagine life without our community group. Love love love these people. – David

Our group is multi-generational and one of the things I like best is tackling and hearing from various age groups how this issue impacts them right now. – Lynn

My husband and I were new to Colorado Springs around 6 months ago. Our Community Group brought us a great way to get to know people. More than that-we have LOVED the very honest discussion in our group. It has strengthened me, knowing that believers(and friends) are praying for me and me for them. Short answer - IT’S GREAT!  – Sheila

We love our community group! It's given us an opportunity to get to know some great couples (from our neighborhood) that we most likely would not have met otherwise due to attending different services. A real bonding is taking place and we are starting to socialize outside of meeting times. People are becoming more vulnerable and sharing more of their hurts, joys, and concerns. God is at work! – Coleen (leader)
