Salt Lake City Day #3
Today was a very long and eventful day. We started the morning eating breakfast and morning devo. Then we went to Salt Lake City missions to sort a very large amount of clothes. We sorted clothes by men and women summer and winter and there was a lot of other miscellaneous items we went through. At first it was hard because we wanted it to be better organized but eventually we did it quickly and kept needing more and more bags for the clothes. Some of us left and loaded furniture into Alfred’s truck for a family in need. Then we ate lunch at a park and after that we went and prayed over countries at the International Peace Gardens. As we headed out and we were on our way to the Genesis Project in the mini van that Bekah was driving with Izzy, Reagan, Abigail, Kylar, and Austin we ran over some metal that fell out of a truck in front of us. We got a flat tire and had to pull over to the side of the highway. But it was okay because Bekah kept a smile on her face through it all and we were laughing because we were scared. Then Joshua came to the rescue and pulled up in his big van and helped Bekah. But dun dun dun there was no extra tire in the mini van. Mean while the rest of us were learning more of the vbs songs and figuring out all of our jobs to serve in the VBS and we got to learn what we were doing. 10 of us are in charge of leading the dance motions for VBS worship and then we help with crafts. Some of us are small group leaders and some help with games. We do VBS at night and we get to eat dinner with the kids as one of the rotations. Some of the kids have special needs and some are being raised by their grandparents and it’s a lot different than what we have experienced at WVC Kids Camp. We are exhausted and some of us our homesick but we are also having fun and learning to live a mission life not just going on a mission trip.
