Mexico June 25 Day 2

Hello! Today was our first full day in Mexico. We got to sleep in a little today, and we had a delicious breakfast of pancakes. After that we took a tour of the base and the ranch. We got to see the church on the base, the various animals including a pond full of tilapia, and we got to hold baby bunnies at the ranch. The scenery was so beautiful and so unique. Afterwards, we got to have a delicious lunch, similar to fajitas. Then, we went to the town of Tiltepec, where we got to dance and put on a skit for the kids vacation bible school. Then, we gave them a craft, and they all got facepaint markers. They immediately began to draw on everyones face, and the loved to color on our arms. There was also a game of football and basketball and even tag.

Like my sister said, the food was delicious and we are so blessed to have these amazing women on kitchen staff. Because none of us learned the dances we were supposed to, we had a sweet dance practice on the basketball court-turned-dance-floor. Obviously we all nailed it by the second take and rolled out. The van ride was very beautiful and I got to sit in the tilted seat (if you know you know). The town was beautiful and some of us got to participate in a World Cup-level soccer (fotbal) game, which I got absolutley cooked in. After that we did our dances on stage and performed the Fiery Furnace. It was super fun to worship the Lord in that way and see everyone come together. We then enjoyed connecting with the locals through (assisted) conversations, facepaint, nail polish, and more soccer. All of the kids were super sweet and I got totally humbled when I tried to ask for a little boys favorite color and he just stared at me as if to say “your spanish sucks”. By the end of the night I can happily say there is now a picture of me in two women’s phones and that everyone had an awesome and meaningul time. When we got back to the base we enjoyed some burritos for dinner made with rabbit meat (kidding) and then headed to the Chapel for worship, a debrief, and testimonies. Overall, the Lord worked in such cool ways today and I truly saw Him in the hearts of everyone around me, including the staff, townspeople, and my fellow Woodmeners. God bless and we’ll see you soon
