Tulsa Day 4

Today was a great day full of exploration and energy. We started off the day with breakfast and devotional by Sydney. We left early to go to a botanical garden. This graden was full of some of the greenest plants and cacti. Before we left for the church we switched up the usual van groups. This worked extremely well with connecting the group more. We had some time before we had to be at the youth center so the groups got various fast food places. This included Starbucks, Sonic and McDonalds. Today was one of the best days yet with the kids. Large group for all the classes went extremely well with most paying attention. Today our parable was about the good samaritan and how caring for people is serving God. After clean up we showered and helped pack school supplies for the upcoming school year. It is so amazing to see all that God is doing in Tulsa and how he is using John 3:16 to change these kids lives. We had a couple hours before we had to meet up with the youth group so we explored shops in downtown. A lot of candy and a couple clothes were bought. We met the Kirk of the Hills youth group at the greenest park I’ve ever seen called the Gathering Place. We played Kickball, volley ball, and enjoyed pizza and soda. We then walked around the park with our new friends and played at the many playgrounds they have there. We were all extremely sweaty so back at the Kirk of the Hills some of us rinsed off with the hose in our swim suits. This was extremely refreshing. After some down time we did highs and lows in debrief. It was so cool to see how we all differently interacted with the kids and other activities. We got through some testimonies and finished very late. We are so excited to see what God teaches us tomorrow and praying for energy.
