An Invitation to Faith

Will you join us in praying for students across the Pikes Peak region who are living-out their faith in courageous and life changing ways to God’s glory?

Laughter and warm conversation drift into the evening air as the front door swings wide. Bowen Garcia welcomes his friend, Chloe Mitchell, inside.

In the living room, they greet several classmates from Eagleview Middle School. They find seats on the couch and Bowen opens their time in prayer. Bibles open up as he launches into God’s Word. He leads his classmates in a fruitful discussion and then challenges them to show the love of Christ to someone in their school. With this encouraging charge, Chloe leaves her first night at the Bible study. She’s so glad she decided to come.

In the weeks to come, Chloe grows more confident in sharing what the Lord has taught her. She asks Bowen if she could help lead the study. He gladly accepts. The two of them work together to pour into their classmates both at the Bible study and in school.

At Eagleview, they plan an outreach event with the nonprofit organization, Decision Point, that seeks to share the gospel with students across the nation. Chloe, Bowen, and several friends put together an evening with free pizza and activities before the message.

That night, 90 students gather in the school’s gym. Chloe courageously steps on stage and shares her testimony – how God helped her overcome struggles and how He has provided her with a caring community.

Next Bowen shares the gospel story. He lets the gathered students know that God sees each one of them as His lost child. The Lord eagerly seeks to lead them back home.

Bowen wraps up with an alter call and thirty students dedicate their lives to Christ that night. The night ends with an invitation to all the students: Find a youth group where you can continue to foster relationships with others and with Christ. Woodmen and a few other groups are highlighted.

Bowen and Chloe are amazed at what God accomplished through one night in a middle school gym! What a beautiful testimony to the power of the gospel when God’s people step out and share.
